And this is why we can’t have nice things, people.
Just moments after Banksy confirmed that he was behind a new artwork which appeared overnight in Peckham, south London, two blokes came along and stole it.
Now where is the community spirit in that, eh?

A gang of men were seen making off with Banksy’s latest piece shortly after the underground street artist verified that he was behind it in an Instagram post shared at 1pm today (8 August).

The mystery spray paint maestro has been slowly unveiling a string of fresh pieces over the last week, which he then confirms are authentic by sharing snaps of them on social media.
In true Banksy style, none of these posts have captions or any added context to them – so Brits have been making their own interpretations of the artwork.

First, there was a stencil-style piece showing a single goat perched on a ledge while rocks fell beneath its feet which popped up on the side of a wall in Kew Green, Richmond.
Following that, an adorable depiction of two elephants reaching their trunks towards one another from blocked-out windows turned up on the side of a house in Chelsea, south-west London.

Thirdly, he then added another art work to his animal-themed collection by producing a piece on the bridge over Brick Lane’s rail station showing a trio of monkeys swinging across it.

Then, a satellite dish emblazoned with the silhouette of a wolf howling at the moon appeared on the roof of a shop on Rye Lane in Peckham – but it wasn’t even there 24 hours before thieves decided to take it for themselves.
Brits had flocked to the site this afternoon to take snaps with the graffiti after discovering it was created by Banksy, but sadly, the fun was interrupted by the two blokes who decided to hoist it.
The pair scaled the shop to get on top of the roof with a ladder before they were seen dismantling the satellite dish from it’s position and running off with it.

Witnesses said the duo were armed with bolt cutters for the heist in broad daylight, PA reported.
They were then pictured legging it down the street while one lugged the ladder and the other cradled the satellite dish.
Not exactly the smoothest getaway.
The situation is reminiscent of a similar occurrence in December last year, when a bloke decided to run off with one of Banksy’s creations which was also installed in Peckham.

A light-fingered fella decided to take the installation – which was a simple red traffic stop sign covered with three 3D aircraft said to resemble military drones – much to the disappointment of locals.
Jasmine Ali, the deputy Leader of Southwark Council, said at the time that the artwork ‘should not have been removed’, adding: “We’d like it back so everyone in the community can enjoy Banksy’s brilliant work.”
Same goes this time round too.
